Product Review: Olay Pro-X Cleansing System

So I am very particular with the skincare products I use and thankfully it pays off, I have clear smooth skin - aside from that week of the month, just working on ridding myself of some scars from my younger days.

I had anticipated forking out the £120 for a Clarisonic cleansing brush this month, but the more times I went to the website, the more I didn't want to. Cut long, dramatic story short – I did my usual rooting around and found the Olay Pro-X Cleansing System alternative….and with raving reviews from caio.com and makeupalley.com and some were even saying they preferred it to the clarisonic, I bought one!

Mine came from eBay and at £26.50 I am chuffed with the results! I have been using it for just over three months now and it is definitely worth every penny! It comes with the base unit, 1 regular brush head attachment (They recommend you change the brush head every three months), x2 AA batteries and a 20ml sample of their exfoliating renewal cleanser, which I am yet to try (I love my skincare regimen as it stands and I don’t want to deviate from what works for me!)

I have normal skin except for my t-zone, where it’s pretty oily. I use Avon Anew 2-1 cleanser and I have been using this since I was 19 and will never change it! I use that in the evenings or when I want to remove my make-up and I use Clean and Clear’s Truly Gentle Facial Wash in the mornings.

I started off using the Olay Pro-X brush morning and evening and after 2 days I had phenomenal results, to the point that I received several compliments on the third day from both male and female colleagues on my ‘glowing skin’ at work! I guess this may have been because it was digging out all the crap that had been in my skin lol – but by the end of my first week’s use I was starting to get the pesky little whiteheads which is a sure sign of over-exfoliation. I love using it, but have now cut it back to using it only in the evenings when washing away my make-up.

I can’t say this is better than a clarisonic as I have never used it, but I have no desire to get one now, because it works so well. It may indeed have additional benefits, but my skin is now in the best condition it has been in almost a year and so I’m more than happy!!!
